Elderly Mistreatment by Legal System

This fund is to assist with legal and other related fees for my 75 year old mother Cynthia Latson who was arrested in the middle of the night at 12:30AM on May 9th  for an issue stemming from an Animal Control request and missed court date.   She was in jail for 2 days and would have been kept there over Mother's Day weekend if her attorney (engaged on 5/9) had not pressed for her release.   The first night was spent in a freezing cell. Her requests for a blanket were ignored by multiple deputies. Her family was unable to find out if her medical needs were being met as she suffers from multiple ailments.   

It was an absolutely horrible ordeal for an eldery person who is not a threat to anyone to have to endure.   A new court date has been set for my mom in June.  Her family will ensure that she is present and assist with any requirements that are required of her via the outcome of the hearing.  It is my hope that the legal system begin to look at more humane methods and procedures when dealing with the elderly...
