Help Families in Jamaica Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa
Hi, my name is ILLY Butcher, a born and raised Jamaican now living in Georgia, USA. Some of my friends and family members live in St. Elizabeth, one of the parishes hit hardest by Hurricane Melissa and are now barely surviving through the destruction caused by the hurricane which has truly broken my heart. Many families have lost their homes, food, and belongings, and are still without basic needs.
I’m partnering with friends and family in Jamaica, USA and the UK to send relief supplies and care packages directly to affected families in St. Elizabeth and surrounding communities. We’re also coordinating with local police to ensure donations reach those in need safely.
Funds raised will go toward purchasing and shipping:
• Non-perishable food
• Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, wipes)
• Clothing, sheets, towels, batteries, flashlights
• Power banks, disinfecting supplies and other basic essentials
Shipping costs will vary and we are aiming to send a few shipments off to Jamaica before November 28th. After this date, the cost to send relief items will increase.
All donations will be used exactly to help the families in need.
As we say back home, “Every mickle mek a muckle”, every little bit counts. We appreciate every donation you are able to give during this traumatic time for my country.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers for Jamaica.
One Love!
ILLY
