In 2022, EK and I embarked on a BOLD project. Running a marathon together!
With EK's Cerebral Palsy and our non-existent experience running marathons, it almost seemed like the dream would never become a reality.
But we believe nothing is impossible, that inclusion goes a long way, and that with the help of friends and family - we can make anything happen.
So we decided to tackle the challenges ahead of us in Two Phases...
Phase ONE - We found our marks. Last February, we were both very proud to share that our team:
1) Fundraised $4,500 for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation (more than double our original goal)!
2) Completed the 26.3-miles Miami Marathon! EK provided much needed support pre/post race, and Victor ran the marathon.
3) Started to build a community of friends and families that supported the project.
Phase TWO - We dream bigger together!
In 2023, EK and I will be running the race TOGETHER this time. We have three goals in mind for next January, and invite YOU to be part of the team:
1) Fundraise $4,000 to buy a marathon-adapted wheelchair.
2) Build a team of runners to join us on this adventure. We'll need help to cross the finish-line!
3) Complete the half- or-full Miami Marathon, Jan. 29th, 2023, and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy.
