Eid Toy Drive for kids in Palestine 2022

Like all other kids, my little brothers are incredibly excited for Eid! They get brand new clothes each year and ask for every toy they can think of... Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch and even a phone. I sat there and tried explaining to them how some kids don’t get any toys at all; some won’t even have new clothes; however, as much as I tried to explain, it didn’t make sense to them until I found pictures from a real school with real kids in Palestine.

They were shocked to see that the school wasn't as big or lovely as theirs. They didn't understand how a child could celebrate Eid but not have a new outfit to wear or a toy to look forward to.

So... together we thought, let's change that! I asked them, "would you like to send them gifts? "They smiled big and said, "We can do that??!"

Of course, we can!

I contacted the Children’s Nonprofit Organization of Tulkarem, where the Children attend. I learned that they have 140 children who are in need. The organization's principal said they would love a generous donation and arrange for volunteers to go and buy the toys and clothes. They even told me that after the children receive their gifts, they can send photos of them with thank you notes directed towards each child who sent a toy.

Not only will this put a smile on a child's face, but it'll motivate our siblings, children and friends to make a difference and help them understand the situations of others around the world. You support both the children and the small business in Palestine selling those toys.

Last year we successfully provided 140 children with toys and clothing for Eid! We are hoping to achieve the $3000 goal this year to give more children $20 worth of a small toy and clothing. Depending on the child's situation, the principal will distribute toys and clothes/hygiene products accordingly. Any extra donations will be directed towards food and expenses specifically for the children and families in most need
