Eid gifts for Muslim kids and youth in care

As Salaam u Alaykum,

We are Muslim Youth and Family Services, a not for profit organization. Our purpose is to promote connections between Muslim youth in foster care and their community. To this end, each Ramadan we raise funds to provide Eid gifts and an Eid party for Muslim children who are within the child welfare system in the Greater Toronto Area.

This creates a chance for the children to connect with their religion and build a sense of community. It also provides opportunities for their foster families to get information about Islam, allowing them to better support for their charges. These families are often enthusiastic about helping their foster children connect with their heritage and community but are lacking the resources to do so.

With your donation, this year we hope to provide Eid gifts to 120 children and youth during the month of Ramadan and inshallah host our 3rd annual Eid-ul-Adha celebration later this summer.

A donation of $25 will provide one child a $25 gift card and a Eid Greeting card wishing them a blessed Eid, reminding them that they are a part of a greater Ummah.

Funds raised beyond what is needed for the Eid gifts will be used for the Eid party and to help us expand our efforts to reach more children and youth next year.
