There are moments in life where we are reminded of a simple truth, we are not the owners of our blessings, we are only entrusted with them. By the will of Allah, I have been given the opportunity to organise a charity initiative across orphanages and elderly care homes, focused on dignity, care, and bringing moments of joy to those who are often overlooked.

This project is not centred around a single occasion, it is about creating meaningful days of happiness, comfort, and human connection whenever possible. For many children and elderly residents, life can feel repetitive and unseen, and even small moments of care can leave a lasting impact.

For orphaned children, this initiative will provide clothing, simple accessories, toys, and essentials that bring comfort and joy. Alongside this, we will create activities such as mehndi stations for girls, face painting, and arts and crafts for children, along with snacks, drinks, and small treat packs so they can experience a day of happiness and play.

For elderly residents, we will provide shawls, clothing, perfumes, and comfort items, along with warm meals, tea, and sweets. Where appropriate, there will also be gentle activities such as mehndi for those who wish, but the main focus is care, conversation, and companionship, something many elderly people value deeply.

This initiative will also extend to children in villages, schools, and madrassas, where access to basic supplies is often limited.

We will also distribute books, stationery, and learning materials to support education and mental stimulation for children, as well as items that improve daily dignity and wellbeing. This includes hygiene supplies, reading glasses, and access to basic medical support where needed, arranged through proper and verified channels such as clinics and professionals.

Alongside this, I am also looking into covering essential medical needs for individuals where possible, including eye care support, hygiene kits, and assistance with prescriptions through appropriate healthcare providers. The aim is not just to provide temporary happiness, but to address small but meaningful needs that improve daily life.

I could have done this alone, but I realised something greater, that blessings grow when they are shared. This is why I have opened this initiative to others who wish to be part of something meaningful, not because I am unable, but because goodness multiplies when hearts come together for a cause greater than themselves.

Wherever you are in the world, I encourage you to reflect on the blessings around you. We are all surrounded by opportunities to give, even in small ways, and often without realising how much we already have. This is not about abundance but it is about intention.

Charity is never a loss. It is a return. It does not decrease what we have, it purifies it. We are taught that charity extinguishes hardship like water extinguishes fire. So give as you would wish to be given to, care as you would wish to be cared for, and remember that what is given for the sake of Allah is never lost, it is preserved.

This is our beginning, and I pray it becomes something that inspires everyone to begin theirs too.
