In Memory of Katherine

It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Grace Clark announces her passing on June 17, 2025.
Katherine’s health saga began in December when a severe ear infection led to hearing loss and intense vertigo. In April, a medical procedure was done to place tubes in her ears to attempt to alleviate or at least lessen some of the symptoms. Unfortunately, a bacterial infection resulted and led to bacterial meningitis, a severe condition that results in brain swelling. Katherine was hospitalized on June 4 for treatment of the meningitis and doctors inserted a drain to reduce the fluid and swelling from her brain. The drain was removed several days later once things appeared to be stabilizing. However, Katherine suffered a sudden and severe brain bleed. Despite every effort, multiple blood clots prevented further drainage, and the resulting hemorrhaging led to a rapid decline in brain function. Katherine passed away on the morning of June 17.
When Katherine was hospitalized for meningitis, her adult daughter Anna immediately moved to Spartanburg to help manage her care and to provide support for Katherine’s teenage daughter, Eve. Katherine had been unable to work in the six months leading up to her passing and was behind on her household expenses. Now Anna and Eve are doing their best to keep up with the mortgage and other expenses while the estate is being settled. In lieu of flowers, they are asking for support through this Go Fund Me account to ease that burden.
This fundraiser will be managed by Katherine’s sister, Mary Coy, who will ensure that the funds go directly to paying off these expenses. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
