EGC 2025 Gratitude Fund

Dear Friends,
For the past two years, a team of 13 volunteers has been working behind the scenes — after hours, on weekends, using their vacation time — to bring the European Go Congress 2025 to life.
Now, we are opening a Gratitude Fund — a way for you to say thank you to the people who made this possible, to pay for their time, professional work and compensate their costs.
The EGC 2025 team have taken care of everything in last two years:
- Leading and managing EGC as Program Manager (thanks to Tomasz!)
- Answering 500+ participant support requests (thanks to Błażej!)
- Preparing legal documents, policies, and contracts (thanks to Ewa!)
- Building and maintaining the website and registration system (thanks to Konrad & Julia!)
- Building EGC Program & setting up all scene for guest Professional Players and Teachers (thanks to Natalia!)
- Coordinating & supporting all logistics subjects (thanks to Witold!)
- Managing suppliers & initial setup (thanks to Karol T.!)
- Creating brochures, visuals, and marketing materials (thanks to Katarzyna & Natalia!)
- Handling all communication media and posts (thanks to Katarzyna!)
- Handling finances, compliance, and reporting (thanks to Karol & Tomasz!)
- Working with the school, district, police, and services (thanks to Tomasz!)
- Organizing tournament rules, schedules, and arbitration (thanks to Krzysztof G & Krzysztof K & Pascal & Maksym!)
- Arranging travel and providing support for 30+ international volunteers (thanks to Natalia & Karol!)
- Taking 2 weeks off from work to be on site (thanks to whole team!)
- Giving up evenings, weekends, and countless personal hours to meet, prepare, negotiate, test, plan, and deliver this event (thanks to whole team!)
Did you know?
- None of the core organizing team is paid – this has been a fully volunteer effort for over two years
- Any funds raised through this Gratitude Fund will be equally divided among the organizer team
- We now have almost 1000+ registered participants from 48 countries
- The fund is open now through early September 2025, until end of opening EGC 2025 survey for participants
This is not a fee — it’s a gesture. A small gesture. Entirely optional. But it means a lot! A thank-you, if you feel it’s deserved.
