Shawn and Roberta’s sweet baby girl Alyssa, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Like any parent, they could not foresee something like this happening, nor could they have prepared to have their lives turned upside down.
Alyssa is starting treatment ASAP, but sadly this is just the beginning of a very long journey. They are looking at a minimum of a year and a half to two years of treatments for this sweet girl. We are all very hopeful that this treatment will be a success. That being said, their journey requires a lot of trips back and forth/ possible hotel stays once discharged from the hospital as they need to be close.
Unfortunately this also means that Shawn and Berta will suffer loss of finances as well. Berta will be off of work as she needs to tend to her baby girl. We need to rally and do what is in our ability to help to ensure they have a stress free environment to bring their babe home to.
They need our help. To one of the most selfless couples there are out there, who have literally dropped everything to help the ones they love, we’ve got you and we all love you so much.
