The family have give me permission to do this.
My name is Rachael
I have been a life long family friend of this family and they deserve so much more than this I can only talk of my own experiences I am sure you will all have your own life experiences with Michael , Lisa , Lennie & Louie.
Michael was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer whilst in the freeman hospital Newcastle in January 2024.
It was in the January Michael was given the opportunity to undergo major surgery a pancreaticoduodenectomy, also known as a Whipple procedure to remove the cancerous tumour at the head of the pancreas. Michael had the operation mid January 2024. The operation was a complicated operation however it was successful. After surgery Michael struggled to adapt to unexpected life changing experiences although Michael struggles he is adapting well with these changes 1 year on with a lot of help and support from his family.
In march 2024 Michael started FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy treatment he amazingly completed the full 12 round cause of treatment Michael finished his treatment in August 2024. Michael is
Struggling day to day with effects from his surgery and the side effects from the chemotherapy treatment.
In October 2024
Michael was given the amazing news the news the family all hoped for
All clear scan results.
Michael and his family’s nightmare was finally coming to an end.
Michael struggles both physically and mentally but with the continues support from family and close friends things started to normalise as best as they could until February 2025 when tragedy struck again for Michael and his family, Michael was diagnosed with stage IV secondary lymph node cancer. Michael and his family was giving the devastating news that Michael is terminal, Drs have only been able to offer palliative treatment to prolong his life.
Along side NHS palliative treatment Michaels family have looked at other treatment options to attempt to give Michael the best quality of life for the time he has left with his family,
this treatment comes at a cost.
As past and present this has a financial impact, financial strain on the family. At this difficult time I am hoping we can all come together and alleviate some of this financial strain and pressure on the family.
Let’s help by raising funds to fund towards his treatment and hopefully give the family a little opportunity to spend some quality time together by funding a little brake away.
