Education Fund for Tiago's Sister Carol
Donation protected
This campaign is in memory of Tiago Flórido, Harvard Business Economics PhD student and PUC graduate, who passed away in early May after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. Tiago was passionate about education, and since moving to the US, had helped to support the education of his 10-year-old sister, Carol, because in Brazil, high-quality schools are mostly private and quite expensive. He also left all of his remaining funds for this purpose. We, his friends, would love to make sure that his wish is honored, and have started this fund to supplement what he left behind.
This fund will support Carol's education expenses from ages 10 to 17, when she finishes high school, covering tuition (70% of funds raised), English and preparatory classes (20%), transportation (7%), and supplies (3%). The goal above reflects our best estimate of these costs after deducting Tiago's funds, but any unused funds will be donated to charity, hopefully to a scholarship/academic prize in his name.
