Education for Congo’s Children: 30 Days, 30 Hopes

Yet, in Congo, countless children are denied this basic right, trapped in circumstances that keep them from realizing their dreams and potential.

My name is Melodie Ntumba Mutombo, and this campaign is a mission from my heart. Through Education for Congo’s Children: 30 Days, 30 Hopes, I am rallying to raise $30,000 alongside Hope G.C.L.M to give these children access to schooling, essential supplies, and humanitarian aid for vulnerable widows, the elderly, and struggling families in the Luluta community of Congo, DRC.

This mission is deeply personal to me. Growing up as a refugee, I lived through the hardships these children now face—choosing between school and a meal, wondering if I would have a roof over my head, and often feeling like the odds were stacked against me. But my grandmother was relentless. She sacrificed everything to ensure that my cousins and I could attend school, even when it meant going without a meal. Her resilience taught me that education is worth every sacrifice and that every child deserves the chance to learn, regardless of their circumstances.
