Educating my Girls
Donation protected
My name is Teryn Kilbride, and I am the blessed mother of four amazing children, with one brilliant daughter in college and another beloved daughter in a Montessori preschool. While raising children comes with so many special moments of joy, the expenses of education can be staggering.
Anna currently attends Des Moines Public Schools’ Cowles Montessori Preschool, costing $169 each week. Cowles allows Anna the opportunity to be educated with the Montessori method, which is very close to my heart. I trained in Montessori when I lived in Ireland and really believe in the benefits of this type of education, encouraging students toward rigorous, self-motivated growth. My house even emulates a Montessori classroom! I had been on the waiting list for 7 years to get any of my kids into this wonderful program. Anna, my fourth child, is the first to get in!
Eva is both a talented artist and writer, in fact, she is the most creative person I know. She was accepted into her dream school, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, to further her pursuit of becoming an author and illustrating her own books. Eva is gaining greatness in her first year at MCAD. With Eva’s gifts and determination, this girl is going to do amazing things. Eva’s scholarships and loans have covered most of her expenses, but with the remainder of tuition, living costs, textbooks, and technology fees, we still need help raising the last $3,634 to make it through the 2022-2023 school year.
Anna’s cost of preschool this year is $5,272.80; combined with the remaining $3,634 for Eva’s next semester means, as a single mom, I need to come up with nine thousand dollars before December. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
My goal is to help my daughters thrive – whether it is starting the first chapter of schooling or the last. Anything that is contributed would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to DMPS or MCAD. Thank you again in advance!
