Help Empower the Next Generation Through Basketball in Côte d’Ivoire

Hello, my name is Guy Landry Edi, a former professional basketball player, Gonzaga University alumni, and former captain of the Côte d’Ivoire national team. After 18 years of playing basketball across the world—from NCAA Division I courts in the U.S. to top European leagues and international FIBA tournaments—I’ve decided it’s time to give back to the place that shaped me: Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

On July 24th, 2025, I am organizing the Edi-Tion Sports Opportunity Basketball Camp, a life-changing event for 50 young boys and girls (ages 13–16) at Lycée Classique de Cocody. This free camp will offer elite-level basketball coaching, mentorship, leadership workshops, and fun, all in a safe and uplifting environment. These kids are the future—and we’re here to equip them with more than just basketball skills. We’re giving them opportunity.

But dreams like this don’t come easy.

Despite my best efforts, finding sponsors to cover the camp’s costs—equipment, jerseys, medical care, meals, logistics—has been incredibly difficult. So today, I’m turning to you—my extended basketball family, friends, and supporters—to help make this vision a reality.
