In May 2026, I’ll be running the Edinburgh marathon to raise money for the MS society – a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
My Mum was diagnosed with progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2015. Over the years, I’ve watched how this cruel and unpredictable condition has changed her life. MS damages the nerves in the body, and for my mum this has meant gradually losing her mobility. Every day she faces constant challenges that most of us take for granted. Every step of the 26.2 miles (42.2km) will be for her and for all the people who live with MS whose mobility and independence have been affected.
Right now, there is no cure – but research is advancing every year. The money raised from this marathon will go towards funding vital scientific studies that could one day halt or reverse the progression of MS. It also helps to provide crucial support for those living with the condition right now.
As part of my preparation for the marathon, I’ll be running a half (21.1km) in Niseko on the 24th of February. This will be another chance to raise some extra awareness for MS along the way. If you’re out in Niseko working in the area, I’d love for you to join me – whether that’s for 1km, a few km, or the whole thing.
If you are able to support me – whether by donating or just sharing this page, I would be extremely grateful. Every single contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to breakthroughs in treatment and hopefully one day, a cure.
