For those who don’t know me, name is Megan and I’m the owner of Ediénne Hair, a salon that means so much more to me than simply being my business.

On 21st March 2025, our beautiful son, Eddie Malcolm Gunter, was born sleeping at full term. We went into hospital expecting to bring our baby boy home and instead left with a heartbreak that changed our lives forever.

When I eventually found the strength to build my own salon, I knew I wanted Eddie to be at the heart of it.

That’s where Ediénne Hair came from. The name was created in memory of Eddie, meaning that every single day I walk through the salon doors, a little piece of my son comes with me. What started during one of the darkest periods of my life became something I could pour my heart into, and Ediénne has become so much more than a salon to me.

This Baby Loss Awareness Week, I want to use Ediénne Hair and the little community I’ve built around it to give something back.

Ediénne Hair is teaming up with Sands to raise money and awareness for pregnancy and baby loss, helping them continue supporting families who find themselves facing a heartbreak nobody should ever have to experience.

Throughout the week, I’ll be fundraising through the salon, selling pink and blue ribbons, encouraging other local businesses to get involved and donating £5 from every appointment to Sands, including all tips earned & selling Pink & Blue ribbons.

I know that nothing will ever bring Eddie home. But I can make sure his name continues to be spoken.

And if Eddie’s story and Ediénne Hair can help raise money, start conversations about baby loss or make even one bereaved parent feel less alone, then I’ve succeeded.

Ediénne Hair was built with Eddie at its heart.
Now we’re fundraising with his name at the heart of it too.

For Eddie, for every baby who should be here, and for every family learning how to carry a lifetime of love without them
