We are Mohammed and Nemer, two friends from Gaza who dedicated years to education and dialogue beyond our borders. The war that began on October 7th turned our lives upside down. Our families have faced loss, fear, hunger, and the destruction of their homes. Both of our own homes were completely destroyed.
We were among the few who managed to escape Gaza, but our hearts remain with our parents and siblings still living under unimaginable conditions, without safety or hope for the future.
Our experiences have taught us the importance of humanity, understanding, and the power of dialogue. Today, Mohammed volunteers with peaceful NGOs in Europe, leading educational programs that promote peace and understanding, while Nemer is pursuing a PhD focused on encouraging moderation and resilience. We believe that compassion, not division, is the only path to ending suffering.
We are in urgent need of the following:
- Visa opportunities: Study or work, or any European visa that can ensure our families' safety.
- Financial aid: To support them until they are evacuated.
- Key connections: To help expedite the evacuation process.
- Spreading the word: To amplify our plea and reach those who can help.
Costs for food per family in today's prices:
Daily food, cooking fuel, and water costs are 90€
This total is made up of:
- Flour: 2 kg for 12€ per kg
- Vegetables: 2 kg of tomatoes, eggplant, or potatoes for 25€ per kg
- Cooking Wood: 10€
- Water: 6€
