EDGBASTON HIGH SCHOOL SPONSORED SWIM

Edgbaston High School for Girls are swimming a distance of 61 miles to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and South Tyneside General Hospital.

The Legion funds will be going into the Poppy Appeal and also to the Purchasing of items to help Veterans who may be struggling.

South Tyneside Hospital have also helped veterans during the pandemic.

Our school has links to Serving and Ex-Serving Members of the Armed Forces and we support the Poppy Appeal every year.

The 61 mile is the distance that our girls travelled when they returned to Birmingham having been relocated in 1939 to Stroud to evacuate the war, however, this was seen as the Phoney War and the girls returned!

The EHS Community is very excited to be taking part in such a worthy cause with the staff and students participating!
