Donation protected
Hi, I'm Lee, one of 18 Community radio volunteer presenter for Eden FM Radio based in Penrith Cumbria. The first community radio station to launch in Cumbria back in 2010 as a project, that switched on as a station in 2011. Recently it renewed its Ofcom Community radio licence for 107.5 FM for its third five year Term to June 2029.
A self funded radio station, we have to raise the funds every year to be on air 24 hours a day 'every day' (8760 hrs on air every year). We deliver local news, travel, sport, local events and news everyday for free! We attend and promote events for free!
Our Ofcom licence dictates that we cannot be a commercial station and our on air advertising is capped. This is our second 24 hour show, once again, it will be hosted by one presenter The Double Decade Show host Marty Strutt.
Supported by he's colleagues and friends he'll start 12pm Saturday 28th September 2024 and finish at 12pm on Sunday 29th September. Online locally and to the world via www.edenfm.co.uk click to listen.
We support and work with all locally charities', not for profit and other voluntary groups by helping them to be seen and heard in the Community they serve. We actively work with local schools hosting several work experience programmes every year.
Our team of volunteers are aged from 14 to plus 70. A group of all and variable abilities, including some special needs, blindness and dyslexia.
All funds raised will go towards basic equipment like, headphones, new studio chairs, essential IT components and equipment that keep Eden FM Community Radio on air.
In this year of 2024 the Eden FM team will contribute close to 10,000 voluntary hours in supporting its community. We can't be seen most days but we can be heard.
