East Coast Solidarity Summer (ECSS), formerly DC Desi Summer, is a leadership and empowerment program for young people from South Asia, or South Asian countries or South Asia related histories (e.g. Caribbean identities, East and South African identities, descendants of indentureship identities) and mixed identities who are passionate about social justice. 

Spearheaded by the volunteer ECSS Organizers Collective, our summer program provides a radical and inclusive space to build community and examine key social justice issues. Our goal is to engage participants in critical reflection, community building, activism, and organizing. We believe that a united, educated, and inspired collective of young activists and organizers is crucial to creating social change both locally and globally.
