Electrical installation Inn Along the Way Community Center
Tax deductible
Hello everyone,
My name is Sylvia Tavares and I am helping to raise funds for the purchase and installation of our electrical system to complete the weatherization of the “long barn” at the Inn Along the Way in Damariscotta, Maine.
The IAW, was established as a 501c3 non-profit in 2014. The property was purchased in 2016. IAW is a collaborative community offering older adults and those seeking temporary relief from the responsibilities of caregiving in an environment of support and sustainability in a multigenerational and mutually independent setting. Initially the historic Chapman Farm House, was converted into an Inn providing respite care. Over the last 10 years the community has also come to recognize the IAW as a special place that hosts support groups, singing circles, lunches with the bunches, community conversations, art workshops and more.
The antique farm house has been converted to an Inn and is bursting at the seams as we are growing to meet the needs of the community. Projects are not undertaken until the money needed to cover the expenses is in hand. Using proceeds from the summer’s barn sales coupled with the generous support from the IAW’s donors, friends and volunteer base the renovations described above are 100% funded.
With increased community demand for the Inn’s programs space is at a premium thus weatherization of the long barn has begun.
The IAW takes its 501c (3) status very seriously. We depend on financial support from our volunteer and our donor base. With the support from our fund raising base, we’ve been able to complete most of the Long Barn project.
In order to move forward with the next phase of the Long Barn’s weatherization and conversion to a year round facility an additional $15,000 needs to be raised. These funds will be used to cover the cost of the electrical installation and complete this project.
We’re looking forward to having you, your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues continuing to be or to becoming a part of our ever-growing community. With your help, we can finish the renovation and provide the extra meeting/event space so greatly needed for our growing community and the local community as well.
Thank-you very much for your support,
Sincerely,
Sylvia Tavares and everyone from the Inn Along the Way
