What we do in life echoes in eternity.
Our son, Maximus, is preparing to face the biggest fight of his young life.
Max has been diagnosed with severe MPS I (Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I) — a rare, progressive genetic disorder that causes harmful substances to build up in the body. Over time, this buildup can affect multiple organs and systems, including the heart, liver, bones, joints, and more. The progression is unpredictable, and without intervention, it worsens.
To give Max the best chance at a healthier future, he will undergo a life-saving transplant. Receiving this transplant at such a young age is critical. It offers hope to slow the progression of the disease, protect his organs, and improve his long-term quality of life. This road will be long and intense — but it is also filled with hope.
For three or more months, Max and I will be living in Philadelphia for his transplant and recovery. During that time, my fiancé will remain at home caring for our two older children while continuing to work. Because I will be hours away from home and our hospital days will be unpredictable, I am unable to work during this season. My fiancé will be our primary source of income while managing both work and parenting at home.
This means we will be navigating life in two places at once — staying strong for all three of our children while facing the emotional and financial weight of this journey.
We named this fundraiser “Echoes for Maximus” because we believe deeply that what we do in life echoes in eternity. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every share, and every donation becomes part of that echo — surrounding Max with strength and helping our family remain steady during one of the most challenging seasons of our lives.
Your support will help cover:
• Travel to and from Philadelphia
• Living expenses while I stay by Max’s side
• Daily household bills while our income is reduced
• Comfort items for Max during his hospital stay, helping make long days a little brighter and more comforting
Asking for help is never easy. But this journey is bigger than we can carry alone. Your generosity allows us to focus on what matters most — Max’s healing, his comfort, and being fully present with him through every step of this fight.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. Thank you for loving our boy. Thank you for being part of Maximus’s echo.
