I lost my childhood homes of 52 years in the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California on 1/7/25. I was literally born in the front house. My grandmother and great-grandmother lived in the back 1915 farmhouse. I spent many happy days in these homes and in the vast yard with grapevines, mature citrus trees from the early orchards, and interacting with neighbors. I spent the past few months walking with my elderly neighbor (who has dementia) almost daily and chatting with neighbors we encountered along the way.
Many friends and acquaintances have been so very kind as to reach out and ask how they can help me during this extremely challenging time. I escaped with only the clothes on my back and a couple of changes, a few important documents, and my cats (my babies). Everything else is gone. I can use many essentials to start with. Anything is much appreciated, even just good vibes/prayers for my future as I continue on my journey in the community I love.
