Easing the Financial Burden for the Darrow Family
Donation protected
My name is Chrissy Poulton and I have been friends with Kathy Darrow for 25 years. We met when I was hired as an Autism therapist for her son. We became fast friends and later in life when she became an RDI consultant to help other families with children with Autism, I began working under her.
When her children were young, her husband Dave worked hard to support their family of 6 while Kathy was a stay at home mom dealing with the challenges of raising small children. When the kids were older, Kathy pursued a career as an Autism (RDI) consultant to help families, who like her family, had been touched by Autism. When Kathy started her consulting business, she switched roles with Dave as the bread winner of the family allowing Dave the ability to be a stay at home dad and homeschool their 4 children.
Unfortunately, Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer in late summer of 2022. This diagnosis she chose to keep confidential from friends, including myself, as she and Dave worked towards recovery. In recent weeks, she developed an infection that progressively got worse and prevented further cancer treatment which ultimately spread throughout her body.
She was placed on hospice Friday evening 11/18/22 and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday afternoon 11/20/22.
As the sole provider for her family this created a huge financial burden for them and as they attempt to pick up the pieces and grieve the loss of their wife and mother, how they will pay their bills should be the last thing on their minds. I am asking for help to ease their stress during this time until they can properly grieve and reassess their options for livelihoods going forward.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, no donation is too small.
Thank you & God Bless
