The story behind the tragedy
On May 12, 2015, our daughter Macy went into cardiac arrest and didn’t have a heartbeat for 24 minutes. Lack of oxygen to her brain resulted in her having severe brain damage in her frontal lobe. We believe that this came about due to her being pregnant and being home alone Delivering her stillborn child who we named Madison we believe that she somehow went into shock leading to the cardiac arrest for the fact that she didn’t know that she was pregnant. She didn’t appear to be, nor did she show signs as a result of all of this of course, she was hospitalized ! during her stay at the hospital, six weeks in , our youngest son Trent had a horrible car accident which he was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car and ended up crushing his skull which led to him having traumatic brain injury. Both Macy and Trent were in the same hospital one on the seventh floor one on the ninth floor, at the same time we had to deal with this devastation along with the road we had to face of having to take care of them which including many many many surgeries, doctors visits hospital stays ! Both Macy and Trent are bed bound and can’t do for themselves, Macy has a trach and a tummy tube and she can’t speak or communicate with us ! Trent can speak, but you can barely hear his voice come out and neither one of them can walk ! so we as parents elected to take care of our children ourselves just to ensure that they would get the best care not having to worry about someone mistreating them or giving them improper care ! During our time of caring for them , we have come up on financial hardship a few times ! God has given us the courage and strength to keep on going . One of the things that would help us out tremendously is having a wheelchair accessible van that loads from the rear to help us when we have doctors appointments for them ! There have been times when Macy has an appointment to have a procedure done that only takes about 45 minutes then we have to wait for an ambulance to give her a ride home which has taken up to eight hours of us waiting to get her back home before which is insane on top of that getting bills in the mail for the ambulance ride is more than we can handle ! we’re asking for donations to help these two brother and sister making things a bit easier for them and for us . If you wasn’t aware, these wheelchair accessible vans are very expensive. This is the reason why we’re asking for help ! Your donations to help this young sister and brother out would be greatly appreciated . Thank you in advance.
Sincerely
the parents of MACY and TRENT OVERALL
