My name is Rebekah Alenduff and I am creating this GoFundMe for my aunt, Laurie Gombar. On Monday, June 2, 2025, her husband, Thomas Gombar, passed away from complications due to aplastic anemia. He had been battling this illness since 2009, eventually having to give up work and solely rely on the income of his wife Laurie, who also was his full-time caretaker.

Uncle Tom’s passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His passing also leaves a substantial financial burden on his wife, Laurie. She’s facing funeral expenses, a mortgage, and innumerable medical bills all on her own and with a very limited income.

If you are able, we are asking for donations to help offset all of these costs. Funds will be used to cover funeral expenses, assist with Laurie’s mortgage payments, and cover medical bills that have accumulated over the years. Any contribution is greatly appreciated - no amount is too small. My aunt has been through so much over the years, and we would like to help ease her burden as she’s mourning the loss of her husband.
