Hi,
Two earthquakes, the first a 7.7 magnitude followed by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake, struck Turkey and Syria at around 4 am local time on 6 February 2023. According to authorities, over 50,000 people in the two countries have been killed, with over 110,000 people injured. These numbers are still increasing.
We are especially concerned for the safety and well-being of people who have lost their homes, and those who are sleeping in the cold at this time of the year when temperatures regularly drop below 0 deg C.
We are in contact with local family members, friends and officials who can provide immediate help to outskirt towns and distant villages which haven't been getting the support they need.
We know from the locals that there is no food, no hygiene items, tents, shelters or electricity in those villages flattened by the quake.
These funds are going to be used to buy and deliver food, hygiene items, underwear, clothes, tents, blankets and generators to the survivors as swiftly as possible.
We already have delivered some help ( one batch of generators, food supplies, hygiene items) with the money we put together with friends to a couple of these villages you can see the photos below. Now, we know that we can do more with more support.
Please support us to reach the people affected by this disaster.
Please do not forget that every little bit counts.
Thank you all.
