My name is Mehmet Yıldız. My home town Antakya( Antioch on Orontes) in Turkey, was affected by 7.8 and 7.4 magnitude earthquakes on the 6th of February, 2023. So far, official figures state that more than 40.000 people have died.

I lost 9 members of my family; my uncle, cousins and their families did not survive.

My mother, siblings, and their families managed to run away from the rubble. But they have all lost their homes.

Many of my family members are reaching out to me for help, desperate to find a way to start over.

Any help right now is greatly appreciated as our hearts are heavy and broken for their loss.
