Eamonn Ó Duibhir - Solo Run - Carn Uí Néid go Cionn Mhalánna
On Saturday 9th August, I’ll be setting off on a Solo Run from Mizen Head to Malin Head, aiming to complete the journey by Monday 18th August, all in aid of Donegal Cancer Flights & Services. Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Thank you for your support!
Donegal Cancer Flights and Services was established in 2017. At that time, we were providing a service to approximately 70 patients. Our service has expanded, which covers all of Donegal and we now provide these services to over 500 clients. Our founding purpose is rooted in providing care within the community and promoting positive social change and we exist to “establish, promote, fundraise, operate a service dedicated to the direct provision of community support for cancer patients, their families and careers.
We provide flights to Dublin, ground transport, free counselling, transport for children with severe or life limiting conditions and their parents and families in the area.
Donegal Cancer Flights & Services offers the following
- Provide support and information
- Coordinate return flights to Dublin for cancer patients and their families and children with long term illnesses or life limiting conditions
- Providing ground transport by car or bus to and from hospital in Galway, Roscommon, Manorhamilton, Sligo, Derry, Ballykelly, Belfast and Letterkenny
- Provide free counselling for cancer patients and their families in conjunction with the Irish Cancer Society
- Information Nights
- Pamper Days
- Coordination Volunteer Driving Service in conjunction with the Irish Cancer Society to and from the airport in Dublin
- Coordinating flights abroad to London, Sweden, Spain USA and Hungary
- Information and support on Care to Drive applications
- Provide and book accommodation for patients and family members
- Provide financial assistance when needed
- Chair Exercise for both men and women
- Building on our already established walking group
