Ealing Together - Harmony in Diversity
Would you like to help give Ealing schoolchildren the opportunity of a lifetime to perform at the Royal Albert Hall?
The Ealing Symphony Orchestra and Ealing Music Service are working together on a groundbreaking event which will see 1,400 schoolchildren from across the borough perform at the iconic venue on 24th June 2025.
The ‘Ealing Together’ performance is a collaboration between the two organisations and will see a variety of Ealing-based youth music groups appear alongside the fifty-strong Ealing Symphony Orchestra. Ensembles involved include Ealing Youth Orchestra, Ealing Youth Jazz Orchestra, and other Cadenza ensembles run by EMS. In addition, a choir of over 1,200 schoolchildren is being recruited from local schools across the borough, with 40 schools already confirmed.
This is the first time that EMS has organised an event at this scale for local Ealing schoolchildren and youth groups. Deputy Head of Service at EMS, Lee Marchant, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase local talent as well as foster a sense of collaboration and community within the borough of Ealing”.
Both organisations are extremely grateful to the Royal Albert Hall for their support of this event through a charity discounted let. This is one of the many ways in which the Hall, which is an independent registered charity, supports others in the charitable sector.
Despite this support, there are significant costs involved in bringing an event like this to fruition, particularly in ensuring the event is accessible for children in all parts of the borough. Any surplus funds remaining after the event will be ploughed back into providing further opportunities for children in Ealing to engage in music-making activities.
Tickets for this event will go on sale in the new year.
