Hello, my name is Carter Kennedy. I am a boy scout in Troop 47 of Pendleton NY. I am currently working on the rank of Eagle. This consists of planning and leading a community service project for a community organization. For my Eagle Scout Project, I will be restoring an old Erie Canal Buoy Boat, from the 1920's.

For this project, me and my team will need to strip the current paint off of the vessel, patch any holes in the body, bend the window frame back to its correct place, replace the windows, and repaint it.

After that we will transport the boat to its permanent resting place where we will pour a concrete pad, and place it on its stand. We will also be adding a solar light to shine on it.

Following that we will pour mulch around the pad and create a bedding for a series of small bushes and other decorative plants to go around it. The vessel will be displayed right next to the Erie Canal, across from Depeau Park, a park managed by the Town of Pendleton, NY. It will be dedicated to the Canal's 200th Anniversary, and sit as a piece of history and a reminder of the past for generations to come.

However, it is quite an extensive project and it will take some help from the community to fund. Please support my project and the Town of Pendleton in making this project become a reality.
