I am completing my Eagle Scout Service Project to construct a permanent Veterans Memorial honoring the veterans buried at the Old City Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri.
Many of these veterans are not currently recognized with a dedicated place of remembrance. Over time, their service and stories have faded from public view. This project will create a lasting monument to properly honor their sacrifice, preserve local history, and provide the community with a place for reflection, respect, and education.
The memorial will be built on a concrete foundation and constructed from durable stone designed to withstand weather and time, ensuring it will stand for generations. This effort directly benefits American Legion Post 158 and the Jackson community while creating a meaningful historical landmark.
Community support is essential to bring this meaningful project to life. All funds raised will be used exclusively for materials, construction, and installation of the memorial. Any excess funds will be given directly to American Legion Post 158 for continued care of the site.
Thank you for helping honor our local veterans and for supporting this Eagle Scout Service Project.
