I'm currently a Life Scout with Troop 151 of Woodbury, NJ, working on my Eagle Scout project.

For my Eagle Scout project, I will be leading a revitalization effort at West Deptford Park. This project is designed to enhance both the usability and safety of the park while also improving the experience for athletes, spectators, and the local community.

Project Objectives:

Tree Maintenance & Safety Improvements:

We will remove low-hanging branches and clean up fallen debris to improve park safety and visual appeal.

Trail Mulching:

After clearing the area, we will apply mulch to parts of the park to reduce erosion, improve trail usability, and enhance the overall aesthetic.

Welcome Sign Installation:

I will design and install a welcome sign that includes:

A map of the cross-country (XC) course.

Information about local wildlife and fauna.

Warnings about potentially dangerous plants and animals native to the area.

Distance Markers:

Two distance markers will be installed along the XC course to mark the 1-mile and 2-mile points, helping athletes track their progress during runs and races.

Bench Construction and Placement:

Multiple benches will be built and placed strategically:

Near a soccer field adjacent to the XC course, allowing spectators to watch races and games comfortably.

Near the baseball field, offering dual functionality for watching both baseball games and cross-country races.
