Eagle Scout Project - Open a Dog Park in Munhall

Hi. My name is Nathan Collins and I am raising money for my Eagle Scout project. Only 8% of Scouts achieve the highest rank of Eagle and I am challenging myself to attempt to earn this rank. I also want to show that although I am diagnosed with Autism, you can overcome your personal challenges if you work hard.

My project is to assist the Munhall Volunteer Fire Company #1 open a dog park behind their fire station building. Every day, these brave and selfless men and women answer the call of our families, friends and neighbors who need assistance. They started this project several years ago as a labor of love for the community. They have put in countless hours to date cleaning up the space and fund raising to complete the work needed for it to be a safe place for community members to visit with their dogs.

My project includes installing a double gate system at the entrance, providing a sign package to identify the park location and for instructions for patrons and building a pavilion for visitors to enjoy. I also plan to organize volunteers to clean up the area to prepare for the Grand Opening planned in the Spring of 2022.
