For many years, the leadership at Nanuet Hebrew Center have wanted a focal point for holocaust memorial programming.
My project is to fund and construct a Holocaust Memorial Garden on the grounds of Nanuet Hebrew Center.
It will be a 10'X10' area surrounded by 6'X6' pressure treated railroad ties. In the center will be a Star of David Constructed from 4'X4' pressure treated railroad ties. Each corner of the star will be a planter for daffodils (the official flower commemorating the holocaust}. The rest will be filled in with decorative stone.
The Holocaust Memorial will honor the lives of the six million Jews murdered during the holocaust. The need to remember the past is critically important.
