Eagle Scout Project East Lansdowne
Donation protected
My name is Xavier Payne, and I am currently an Eagle Scout Candidate for Troop 43. I began my scouting adventure as a cub scout and over the years I have completed many merit badges, held several positions of leadership, and been very active with the growth of my troop. My long journey is now at the point where I am working toward earning the highest and most honored rank in Scouting, that of Eagle Scout. To achieve the Eagle rank I must plan, develop, and provide leadership to others in a service project helpful to the community. I have chosen to help the Lansdowne Borough in Pennsylvania for my project. They need a new welcome sign installed to help make the area look as welcoming as the borough feels. I take great pride in my community and want everyone to feel as welcome as I did 13 years ago when my family and I moved to the community. I've also noticed that the local library, which is a vital resource, is not easily accessible, especially for the younger community. For some, it's over a mile to walk. To help resolve this issue I will be creating a free local library box that will house free books for the community to utilize. This will strengthen the community and empower people to read and donate. I will also do some landscaping around the borough hall near the library box. It is a large project that will require many hours of labor and approximately $1500 in materials. I am requesting donations to fund materials necessary for construction. Any contribution you can offer to help me achieve my goal will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small, all is appreciated. Also, if there are any leftover funds, the money will go directly to planting perennial flowers around the borough.
