As many of you may know I am currently a Life Scout from Boy Scout Troop 1517 in Conroe, Tx. I am currently planning my Eagle Project and I am seeking donations to help me purchase the materials required to carry out my project.
Currently, when you visit Sacred Heart Catholic School you will notice that the school is making a few changes for this upcoming school year. One of these changes is a change in cafeteria food. The school wants to bring a healthier diet to the students. One of the ways they would like to accomplish this is by growing a garden.
To achieve this goal, I’ve partnered with the school’s principal, Mrs. Brown, to develop a plan for creating raised garden beds. These garden beds will serve more than just growing vegetables, they’ll also provide a hands-on learning experience for students, demonstrating how the food they eat is cultivated through hard work and dedication. The school aims to promote a "farm-to-table" approach, teaching students the value of where their food comes from.
The project's cost will be approximately $2,000 which will cover the cost of materials and other supplies needed to perform the project. The project will consist of 8 raised garden beds, some using a mixed method of wood and metal. Plus 2 metal feeding troughs as raised gardens, and a trellis that curves over the main walkway as a nice show piece for the entrance.
Materials include the following: weed blockers, lumber, sheet metal, nails and screws, and safety equipment (eye and ear protection).
I am very grateful for any assistance you can provide in helping me carry out my Eagle Project. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
