Hi, my name is Aiden K. I am a senior at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School and a Boy Scout from Troop 1 West Groton. I have been part of my troop for about 7 years now, and I am coming up on the rank of Eagle Scout. For the rank of Eagle, one of the requirements is to plan and carry out a service project that benefits a local community, and this is what I hope to achieve in the coming months.
An Eagle Scout project is a way for Scouts to give back and improve their local community. The project involves identifying a community need or problem, and then the Scout plans and carries out a project to address it. The project aims to benefit the community, bring people together, and make a positive difference in the lives of those in that community. It allows the Scout to demonstrate their leadership and organizational skills in a team setting and is the final requirement to reaching the coveted rank of Eagle.
For my Eagle project, I will be constructing and installing two octagonal picnic tables at the Shirley Council on Aging, in Shirley, MA. The plan is to provide seating for outdoor events at the Shirley Council on Aging. The problem of inadequate outdoor seating was brought to our attention by the director of the center. Given that my grandmother lives in the town, I thought that this project would be able to help her community.
Please consider donating to support the project. The money raised will go towards materials and tools required to bring this vision to fruition. I appreciate any support; this means a lot to me, and I look forward to seeing my project to completion.
