Hi! My name is Seiji Yamaguchi and I am a part of Troop 764 in Venice, CA. Throughout my scouting career, I have learned many things ranging from first aid to leadership to backpacking in the Sierras. I have always aspired to become an Eagle Scout.

My Eagle Project will be at Manzanar National Historic Site.  Manzanar was one of the ten Concentration Camps  where 120,000 Japanese American citizens were incarcerated during WWII.   I chose to do my Eagle Project at Manzanar because of my family history.  My grandmother and her family were incarcerated in Manzanar.  My great aunt was born at the hospital in  Manzanar (where my project is planned).   My grandfather and his family were also incarcerated in the camps.  

My project will include work in the former hospital and block 29 area. The work will include brush clearing, rock realignment and painting rocks.

Due to the length of the travel, I would like to charter a bus for troop families, volunteers, and supporters of my project.  The funds raised will go towards a charter bus from Venice, CA to Independence, Ca.  It will also cover the cost of providing a hotel room for the driver to rest as well as supplies for the project. If the projected donation amount is reached and exceeded, all extra funds will be donated to the Manzanar National Historic Site.
