Support the Hall of Shepherds Project
Hello, my name is Gabe Dundale and I am a Life Scout with Troop 79 in Robbinsville, NJ. I have been involved in Scouting America for ten years, starting as a Tiger Scout in first grade. I’m currently working towards the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout, which requires the completion of a community service project.
For my project, I am creating a Hall of Shepherds for the Crossroads Youth Center at Allentown Presbyterian Church (APC), where I have been involved for several years. During this time, I have witnessed how Crossroads has strengthened the Allentown community and supported the local youth. Crossroads is run by over 40 volunteers, called shepherds, who guide and support local youth through retreats, weekly meetings, and more - all while expecting nothing in return.
My project aims to achieve two goals:
1. To connect youth with current shepherds if they ever need someone safe to talk to. This will be done by installing a 12-foot by 5-foot magnetic chalkboard on which photos, contact information, and favorite scripture references of shepherds will be put.
2. To honor the hundreds of previous shepherds who volunteered their time mentoring Crossroads youth with a 5-foot magnetic cross displaying their names and years served.
How You Can Help:
Your donations will fund the materials and supplies required to make my project a success - 100% of donations support this project and the Crossroads Youth Center of APC, no donations go to the Boy Scouts of America.
Every contribution helps youth to get in contact with people they trust if they ever need a safe space to talk and to recognize the past contributions of the incredible volunteers. If you cannot donate, spreading the word is just as valuable!
Thank you for your support and contributions,
Gabe Dundale
