Defibrillators are vital pieces of medical equipment.
Early CPR and rapid defibrillator deployment significantly improve survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) victims.
For every minute delay in starting CPR, the chances of survival decrease by approximately 7-10%
When an AED is applied within the first 3-5 minutes, survival rates can more than double.
In the most deprived areas of England, the nearest 24/7 accessible defibrillator is on average a round trip of over a mile, or 1.8km, according to research supported by The British Heart Foundation, let’s change that together for the sake of our community.
We arenow working as a network of pubs throughout Derby and encouraging them to fundraise themselves to buy a Defibrillator for their community.
We are working with Derby Ambulance First Responders to ensure that the defibrillators can be maintained and kept functional for as long as possible with their support and assistance. We are also organising training sessions for staff and members of the public on how to provide CPR and use a defibrillator.
At present we have already installed three defibrillators, one at The Smithfield and one at The Cross Keys in Ockbrook and one at Mr Grundys Tavern, Ashbourne Road. The next venue is pending and we are working closely with Derby First Responders to find the areas most in need.
Thankyou everyone for you continued support ❤️
