Lucy Walsh Fund

Hi, my name is Olivia and I’m a Firebird at American Youth Dance Theater. The Firebirds are a community service dance company that performs at hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, and community events to bring joy to those who cannot dance or cannot attend performances. Each year, the Firebirds raise funds for the Lucy Walsh Fund, which offers free or low-cost dance classes to children in financial need to give them an opportunity to receive dance training that they might not otherwise be able to experience. It was created in the memory of Lucy Walsh, who was a beautiful dancer and role model for young students at American Youth Dance Theater until her tragic death at 14 years old, to allow others to experience her love and passion for dance. By raising money for the Lucy Walsh Fund, I hope to make dance accessible for those who cannot afford to dance, and make sure that financial difficulties don’t stand in the way of letting them pursue their dreams.

The Lucy Walsh Fund is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of The Lucy Walsh Fund must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
