Help Earl Receive the Surgery He Desperately Needs

Earl’s story is one of heartbreaking neglect but also of hope.

This brave dog was found on the Spanish coast with a severe wound on his face, infested with maggots. He received urgent veterinary treatment to fight the initial infection, and we welcomed him into our sanctuary so he could rest, heal, and begin to trust again.

But further examinations revealed a much deeper problem…

Earl is suffering from a severe chronic ear infection. This has caused:

• A large polyp (inflamed growth) blocking his ear canal

• Damage to the earbone

• A painful draining wound on his jaw that constantly leaks pus

Antibiotics are no longer enough. Earl now needs specialist surgery to:

• Remove the polyp and diseased tissue

• Treat the chronic infection

• Close the draining fistula on his jaw

Without this surgery, Earl’s condition will continue to deteriorate and could eventually lead to septicemia (a life-threatening infection). At the moment, he lives with constant pain, pressure, swelling, and a hot, throbbing ear.

He has already endured so much — roaming the countryside alone, in pain, with no one to care for him. With surgery and ongoing care, Earl can finally live free from pain and enjoy the comfortable life he longs for.

Costs

The surgery itself will cost €1,270. In addition, Earl will need continued veterinary aftercare and management while he recovers.
