Well, as you can imagine, starting a gofundme page to get pregnant is a bit daunting, and yes, emotional. It's a been a 2 year journey from fertility clinic referral, to procedures and surgeries to make sure the plumbing can do what its meant to, three unsuccessful IUI treatments (that's the turkey baster method for those of you who might be curious), one of which resulted in an early miscarriage. Despite the emotional highs and the devastating lows, there is still the hope of an IVF treatment...and this is where you all come in... 

You have been invited to support/join “Team Poppyseed” because you are one of the lucky few who gets to have Shabniz (aka - Sabu) in your life. This invitation is a collective call for support on behalf of Shabniz, ‘cause that woman is insanely busy helping others and she is not one to toot her own horn.

Why “Team Poppyseed”?  Well, A poppyseed is a wee speck, that with some love, nurturance and TLC, can grow into a glorious flower.  It’s a little miracle brought to you by Mother Nature.  I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with bagels!

(Incidentally, it's the size of a growing miracle at 4 weeks, which is about how long Shabniz was able to bask in the glory of her first pregnancy - sorry for the Debbie Downer moment).

As one of Shabniz’s inner circle, you already know how amazing she is.  She has likely fed you, laughed with you and faced some crazy-ass adversity alongside you.  And I think we can agree that her hugs are the absolute BEST.  Now, imagine a baby being enveloped in her warmth and loved like that every single day.  Yeah… That would be one lucky kid.  The sort of little being that would grow up with an open mind, a generous spirit and a wicked sense of humour.  The world needs more of this kind of energy.

But here’s the thing.  Shabniz’s courage, dynamic wit and huge capacity to love is not enough.  The cost of medical expenses to help her get pregnant are insane.  This is crazy-making as Shabniz SO deserves to have a baby.  Her being a mom is just RIGHT.   That something like money could be an obstacle to this is frankly, unjust.
