My name is David Gilmore. I am a Life Scout in Mill Valley Troop 1 working on my Eagle Scout project. I'm also an active CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Member. With the recent wild fires all over our state, I'm very concerned about how a disaster would impact our community and would like us to be better prepared. My Eagle project will improve our readiness to manage an emergency situation when the need arises.
Mill Valley CERT has a trailer that is currently used to store emergency supplies and equipment. My plan is to convert it from a storage container into a Mobile Incident Command Center - ready to go at a moments notice. Modifications I would like to include are interior and exterior lighting, power, a chart table with maps, a hand radio charging station, and to stock it with first aid equipment and fresh supplies.
I'm reaching out to Mill Valley residents and businesses, friends and family for the funds needed to purchase the materials I need to make it happen.
This Mobile Incident Command Center will be available to CERT, Mill Valley Fire Department and Mill Valley Police Department to serve our community. Please HELP ME reach my goal.
Donations will go through the Mill Valley Volunteer Fire Department and are fully tax deductible.
