On October 23 2025, my Only Son, Shabazz Messiah Grant was shot twice, in a random crime spree here in Charlotte, along with another gentleman. A lady was kidnapped by the perpetrator, and as he had conflict with cmpd, his life was ended. Messiah succumbed to his injuries October 26 2025. We are left with the biggest holes in our hearts! Trying to navigate through the worse pain imaginable! Messiah was a great Son, Dad, Brother, Grandson, Uncle and so much more. He leaves behind great memories but minor children that are devastated beyond belief. On that day Messiah worked his Amazon shift ,then later picked up a passenger on his Lyft app.

No one deserves to be doing their job as a Lyft Driver and end up a headline of a crime spree for absolutely no reason, explanation nor justice, as not one victim nor perpetrator knew the other. We are asking as a family if you could donate for expenses to help out with his minor children, that he loved with all of him and worked so hard to provide for. Thank you so much.
