URGENT MEDICAL APPEAL

Ahmad Mohammed is a Palestinian Dr of Pharmacology in the Gaza Strip.

He has concluded testing and educational requirements but needs to cover administrative fees to the University to receive his license.

He is a pillar of his community and helps many people without asking for any recognition or payment, often from his own resources and funds.

Now Ahmad needs our support for his father’s URGENT medical needs.

Eiad Mohammed, Ahmad’s father, was detained in Israeli prison for two years, where he was subjected to all forms of physical and mental abuse and torture. He sustained severe spinal injury and was released with limited ability to walk or move. He has medical reports and needs multiple surgeries to maintain his health and mobility that are not available due to the criminal destruction of infrastructure and medical facilities and illegal humanitarian blockade imposed by the occupation.

Complications of his condition have lead to ulceration of the stomach, bowel obstruction and perforation, leakage of gastric and bowel contents into the interstitial space, damage to internal tissue, malnutrition, and a wound exposing his intestines externally.

Emergency surgery was performed to remove damaged tissue, resection the bowel, and place a colostomy.

Due to lack of medical resources in Gaza’s crumbling hospital system, this surgery was done privately and the patient was transferred to the public hospital for stabilization.
