This is my gorgeous nephew Dylan. Dylan is a 12 yr old boy who has a few challenges in his way. None of this seems to deter Dylan from always having a beautiful smile on his face. Dylan has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Vision Impairemen and Diabetes.
Dylan needs constant monitoring and constant care and assistance to do all the little things we take for granted. Dylan's loving family all help out to give Dylan the best possible care, but most of all give Dylan love and support to be Included in everything they do and help Dylan to do things to the best of his ability. Dylan enjoys going to school, the beach, swimming centre, parks, movies, bowling and visiting his friends.
Dylan is in a wheelchair so he needs to be transported in a modified vehicle that has a lifter so he can be transported to all his activities. Unfortunately last week the car they own with all the modifications has broken down and needs a new motor which will cost approximately $8000 to fix. The special modifications can't be transferred to another vehicle as it is built into the floor etc. Without this car Dylan is stranded at home, normally mum takes Dylan on lots of outings to meet his friends or catch up with family. This school holidays Dylan can't go the beach, park, movies, swimming, bowling or visit his friends as he has no transport. But the worst and most crutial problem is that Dylan cant attend any of his therapies or doctors appointments. There are access cabs out there for appointments but the cost of this is extremely expensive as nothing is less than 30 kms away. It would be really appreciated if you could donate any amount affordable so Dylan can return to all the activities he loves and attend his therapies and appointments. I know this its a long post and I want to thank you for your time.
Hi there Just a bit of extra info for everybody in regards to Dylan's campaign.
My names samantha Hodson and I live at Willunga. I work in disability. I am Dylan's mum Julie's twin sister and really wanted to help them out at this stressful time. Once we have raised all the money I will get a bank check made out to Julie so she can pay for the work needed on the car. We will take a photo of Dylan and Julie receiving this and post here.
Julie, has had numerous quotes for the motor of the car, starting from 7000- 9300, she is trying to get enough information and help as even for this price the motors are used and she wants one will low km so they have peace of mind that this will be a lasting choice as these things aren't guaranteed for a long period. She is trying to get the right advice on who to go through at present.
We are hoping to have this all sorted by the end of the week and asking the company if we can use any money raised to pay as a deposit so they can start fixing the car so it is ready for Dylan's first day back at school on January 29.
Thank you again for all your support.
