My name is Dylan Kinsella and I am a member of Troop 36 from Waterford CT. I have been involved in scouting for the past 10 years and currently hold the rank of Life Scout. It has been a long term goal of mine to make the rank of Eagle, and in order to do so, I am tasked to complete an Eagle Project.

For my Project, I am going to be building what is essentially a pavilion at Coogan Farm in Mystic.  All produce from this farm goes to the Gemma Moran food bank in New London, which is the regional food bank for this area. This food bank feeds upwards of 19,000 people every month.  

Currently, the volunteers who wash and package the produce given to the food bank have no shelter from the elements. This pavilion will provide the much needed shelter from rain and hot summer days so that the volunteers who work at the farm can continue to benefit those in need.

The structure is going to be constructed with  natural cedar posts, and will cover a 200 square foot area over the washing stations. The pavilion will have a removable top made with awning material so that there is less visual impact on the surrounding environment when the structure is not in use.
