Hi my name is Denisa Cook, my husband and I are trying to raise funds to help my step son, who has Duschenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

DMD is a progressive muscle degeneration and weakness due to alterations of proteins called dystrophin that help keep muscle cells in tack. It causes muscle weakness, starting with the outer extremities and eventually the internal muscles, like the heart and lungs. Currently, there is no cure for this disease, only treatments.

The funds will go to help buy him a new manual wheel chair and home renovations needed to keep up with his medical needs.
